What can I donate to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's car donation program?
We accept most cars, trucks, vans, fleet vehicles, boats, motorcycles, and motor homes. Contact us at 1-877-238-3228 or 314-881-6005 for approval of your prospective donation.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. The IRS classifies us as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. All such donations to us are tax deductible to the extent of the law.  When we put it in the hands of a client you actually get market value for your car.

My car is not running. Can I still donate it?
Yes. We accept most vehicles even if they do not run. We arrange pickup of approved vehicles at no cost to the donor. All approved vehicles must contain all parts, tires, doors, and bumpers.
How is the value of my donation determined?
IRS laws changed relevant to items donated to charities effective January 1st 2005. If the vehicle is salvaged the most you can claim is $500.  If the vehicle is sold or given to a person in need the taxpayer is entitled to the market value of the car.

Do you need my car title?

Yes. The title must be free and clear of financial liens. It must be in the name of the donor. Donors will be instructed where to sign the title over to the Society.
